Adversity is an Opportunity for Greatness

Mike Metcalf Jr. is a rare athlete. His speed, skill, and hard work allowed him to play college football at Appalachian State until he blew out his A.C.L. Twice. This tragedy resulted in a faith crisis and a chance to deepen his faith. This obstacle allowed him to slow down long enough to see life for what it was. As fate would have it, the door of playing football at the highest level closed, and a new door in a NASCAR garage opened.

Adversity is the foe you never wanted, but it can become a friend.

Adversity is a tool, not a crutch or an excuse.

Adversity helps you move forward.

Adversity is a form of suffering.

Adversity creates longing.

And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Romans 5:2-4, NIV

What’s your obstacle?
Can you go around, over, or through it?
Deepen your faith amid the struggle.

Fight through adversity.
Look for opportunities.
Be a New Man.

Give some manliness to your friends
