Warriors Get Back Up

I am sure you have seen this image.

A soldier is beaten, bloodied, and war tore while refusing to quit. Maybe it’s Mel Gibson portraying Hal Moore in We Were Soldiers or Desmond Doss’ character saying “One More” in Hacksaw Ridge. This is nobility, honor, and courage on display. They stay in the fight until the fight is over or they are taken out of the battle. These are compelling images and photos.

I am reminded of a retired Navy Seal named Jason Redman. He was shot eight times (once in the face) while in a grueling gunfight in Iraq, and he has overcome incredible odds to win!

Is that your story?

Not the war, blood and guts part of the imagery but the message underlying these actions.

Getting back up.
Moving forward.
Refusing to quit.

We face opposition. The greatest enemy we face seeks to kill and destroy all that’s good and right, but the Christian’s victor and defender came to bring us life! (John 10:10)

As Redman shared in his book, Overcome, we need to REACT when we hit an obstacle, setback, or even a profound issue of the heart. I have added bible verses to Redman's work.

  1. Recognize your reality (Jeremiah 6:16)
  2. Evaluate your position (Matthew 6:5-13)
  3. Access possible exit routes (1 Corinthians 10:13)
  4. Choose a direction and communicate (Matthew 6:33)
  5. Take action. (James 2:18)

There is war.
Be a New Man.
Engage.

Be a hero

Send this to a guy who needs it

Give some manliness to your friends
